PRIORITIES
THE COST OF LIVING:
Prices are rising fast, and thanks to the tariffs and the War in Iran, they’re not coming down. The Trump Tariffs are hitting families hard, and the uncertainty that follows is forcing people to change their plans. They’re not purchasing new vehicles or expanding businesses. Trump’s tariffs are even changing how folks shop for groceries and making heating your own home unaffordable. And the War in Iran has kept gas prices sky high all year long. In Congress, I’ll fight for universal childcare, good-paying jobs, and a surge in affordable housing to help our neighbors manage a middle-class life again. And I’ll fight to lift Trump’s blanket tariffs and end his war of choice so families can afford to live in Maine.
HEALTH CARE:
More often than any other issue, I hear worries about affordable health care. Paul LePage supported the Medicaid cuts that are leaving too many Mainers without care and forcing hospitals across the state to shut down maternity wards and other clinics. Meanwhile Big Pharma keeps jacking up the price of lifesaving drugs, leaving them out of reach at a time when families are struggling to pay the bills. In Congress, I’ll be a champion for protecting Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid, and I’ll work to fight to expand coverage so more people have the care they need. Medicare for All will help us ensure that we’re spending your tax dollars on health care for Mainers rather than foreign wars or other misguided priorities.
LABOR:
I am 100% pro-labor. As a former labor union member, I’ll be a steadfast pro-union voice in Congress. That means fighting for workers’ rights through legislation like the PRO Act, defending fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to organize. At the same time, I’ll ensure that trade policies work for Maine families and industries. Maine workers built this state—we need a Congress that fights for them.
A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE:
I will always stand up for a woman’s right to make her own health decisions, especially regarding reproductive health and safety. The decision to terminate a pregnancy belongs to the woman faced with whatever circumstances that affect her, and no one should have the right to predetermine what health choices any woman makes. Safe access to reproductive health care should be a constitutional right.
